As a young child, I attended a symphony concert and immediately became fascinated with the violin: the sound, the beauty, the strings. It called to me and was my instrument. Born and raised in Texas, I began Suzuki violin lessons in kindergarten and music became my life’s passion.
I’m a certified Suzuki Violin Method teacher and received my training from David Strom and Ann Montzka Smelser. I also incorporate the Paul Rolland Method, Orff Approach, and Alexander Technique into my teaching.
As a professional orchestral musician, I perform actively with many Bay Area ensembles and am a member of the Fresno Philharmonic and the Santa Rosa Symphony.
Education: Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and a Master of Music degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Teachers include Camilla Wicks, Axel Strauss, Paul Biss, Fredell Lack, Josephine McAndrew, and Debbie Elafros.
Professionally, I’m a member of the American String Teachers Association (ASTA) and the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA).
